**Job Summary**:
Avantor is looking for a Research Services Team Lead with experience from Life Sciences/Biosciences and excellent interpersonal skills, to look after our laboratory-based team of 12-14 people.

This role will be a full-time, permanent position based at one of our major customer sites in Cambridge. Predominantly you will be based at Discovery Centre in Trumpington, but during your first months your home sites will be Granta Park and Hodgkin (sometimes you will have to travel from one site to another, so driving license is needed, to be able to commute easily).

This role doesn’t include any laboratory operational activities, however we need you to have science background to be able to support business needs and our scientists.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, business hours (8:00am - 4:00pm/ 9:00am - 5:00pm). Hybrid model of working will be possible, once you are confident in the role.

**What we’re looking for?**
- ** Education**: A degree in Biosciences/Life Sciences required
- ** Experience**: Minimum 2-3 years in laboratory is required, preferably laboratory coordinating and/or supervising a team. You will be managing a team, so you need team leading skills, be a ‘people’ person and have an ability to build professional relationships with the team, customer and internal partners
- ** Collaboration Tool**: Microsoft Teams experience preferred

- Leading a team of Research Technicians and Laboratory Technicians through a change and transition to a new facility, making sure business/science needs and quality service is met at all times
- Team leading responsibilities including 1-2-1’s, performance reviews, professional development, on-boarding, holidays, ensuring safe and secure working environment
- Collaborating closely with Science Leads on a weekly/monthly/ad-hoc basis to discuss science needs, constructive feedback, identify any quality service gaps and suggest improvements
- Understanding of customer needs and optimally engaging and communicating with multiple customer and partner functions to ensure positive outcomes
