Advanced Public Health Practitioner
Wellbeing and Public Health, Cornwall Council
We wish to recruit an Advanced Public Health Practitioner to join our dynamic Wellbeing and Public Health team at Cornwall Council. We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people with a passion for improving health and reducing inequalities.
This is a great opportunity to develop and influence the public health agenda across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly whilst advancing your skills in public health.
The post will focus on the public health prevention and health inequalities programme. This will include working with the Consultant in Public Health to deliver the mental health and suicide prevention programme, social prescribing and other initiatives. As part of a small team, the postholder will work across the Wellbeing and Public Health Service, with other services across the Council and external partners including the NHS and VCSE organisations.
- Experience of supporting the development, delivery and evaluation of public health programmes
- Ability to undertake surveillance and assessment of the population's health and wellbeing
- Skills in strategy and policy development
- Experience of partnership working
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
