Emergency Gas Operative

**We are looking for a number of Gas Metering/FCO Engineers to work on a long-term contract in across the South of the UK**
During the summer months, you will predominately be attending metering roles and work on call 1 out of every 6 weeks (approx.). During the winter months, the work will then be mainly gas emergencies and you will be required to work 1 in every 3-4 weeks (approx.) on standby. The role will be split between metering, FCO and standby.
**When on standby you could be required to attend emergency callouts which include**:
- Gas escapes.
- Carbon monoxide (CO) incident.
- Gas explosion.
- Report of a smell of gas or fumes.
You **HAVE** to attend the emergency job within a set amount of time (usually 1-2 hours) so flexibility and ability to work ‘on-call’ is essential for this role. When on standby this will be 24/7 for the week you are required.
Whilst not on standby, you will be working set shifts Monday-Friday with a rota for Saturdays - never working later than 2200 to enable a work/life balance still.
This role will be working on a PAYE contract basis through an umbrella company monthly, for which SERT will cover the cost of this service for you
**The rates are dependent on when the hours are worked and are as follows**:
- 0800-1600 - £18.47/hr PAYE
- 1600-0000 - £23.98/hr PAYE
- 0000-0800 (plus bank holidays) - £33.05/hr PAYE
**In order to be appointed in this role, you will need the following**:
- CESP1 and MET1.
- CMA1/CCN1 with MET1.
- Driving licence.
*SERT will provide free upskill training if required as well*
**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months
**Salary**: £18.47-£33.05 per hour
