Crystallise takes an innovative approach to understanding and modelling biomedical information. We carry out a diverse range of projects from systematic literature reviewing and health-economic modelling for pharmaceuticals companies, to mortality and longevity modelling for pension funds. We develop products and tools that help us make our consultancy services more efficient and effective, giving clients the support they need in a timely and affordable way.
Our expertise in biomedical sciences, evidence appraisal and modelling, combined with our experience of working across the pharmaceutical, finance and healthcare sectors, gives us a unique approach to finding ingenious solutions to problems and delivering high-quality services.
We are looking for a junior actuary to work as part of a team of clinicians and biomedical specialists to provide consultancy services to the pensions, insurance, pharmaceuticals and healthcare industries.

Essential skills and experience include the following:
- A newly qualified actuary with excellent written English.
- At least one year of experience in either pensions/annuities, life insurance, critical illness insurance or health insurance.
- A high-end user of Excel, and a basic knowledge of R.
- An understanding of the needs of insurance, pensions and annuities clients.
- An understanding of the regulatory frameworks and relevant reporting standards relevant to projects such as SOLVENCY II, TASM and TASD.
- Fellowship of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA/FFA)
Desirable, but not essential, skills and experience include the following:
- Programming in python and VBA.
- Some knowledge of biomedicine or epidemiology.
- Knowledge and experience of higher statistics, data mining, machine learning or artificial intelligence methods.
Remote working: In a time-zone two hours behind to four hours ahead of London time.
**Salary**: £49,500 to £55,500 per annum depending on experience.
Hours: Full or part-time with Flexible working opportunities
Holiday: 33 days leave per year including Bank and public holidays.
Training: Up to five days paid approved training per year.
