- Job description- The Waste Regime Operational Services (WROS) plan, monitor and deliver compliance and enforcement activity for the following areas of waste regulation; Separate Collections, Material Facilities, Packaging, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Batteries, International Waste Shipments.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual to join our team of Regulatory Officers within the International Waste Shipments Team. You will regulate and monitor the import/export of notified waste through England, disrupting illegal shipments and creating a level playing field for industry. Our team goal is to make sure ‘right waste, right place.’

This role is varied and challenging, with scope for you to develop your skills within the waste shipments regime and across WROS.
Acting as an initial point of contact, communicating and filtering information for the team.
The collation, analysis and reporting of data and information received by the team.
To drive the annual reporting of shipment data to DEFRA
Responding to requests for information from internal and external customers
Responsible for finance reporting for the team
Developing a range of processes and procedures
Coaching and developing team members as appropriate
Organising, maintaining and developing information storage and retrieval systems and ensuring information is up to date.
Chasing and tracking shipment information and undertaking compliance monitoring.
Identifying efficiencies and recommending changes to our processes, delivering continuous improvement.
Developing and maintaining strong customer focus to ensure effective relationship building and partnership working

- Experience/skills required- You'll be able to demonstrate that you have experience of, or skills in:

- Proven experience of working in a customer focused, service delivery role;
- Good interpersonal and influencing skills demonstrating the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues and external customers;
- Proven ability in prioritising and managing a varied workload;
- A record of adapting or improving ways of working to increase efficiency & productivity;
- Deal with sensitive and confidential information appropriately;
- Operate and maintain data and information systems with the ability to interpret data and prepare basic reports;
- Experience of working within a related sector or as a regulator involved in permitting, regulation or site audits would be an advantage, but is not essential.
