The purpose of the role is to support the manager of the Assessment and Placement Team, CAD to manage the appeals received by the team in Havering fairly and transparently, contributing to improved outcomes for children and young people with SEND, working with families and other agencies to seek alternative solutions to appeal or negotiate settlements to appeals.

The role is also to allow collaborative work with parents, carers, settings, partners and young people to minimise SEND Tribunal activity thus allowing resources to be targeted elsewhere.

The purpose of the role is also to work with families and other stakeholders to respond to and resolve complaints as well as undertaking mediation where appropriate.
