**Purpose of the Role**
- The HR and Payroll Assistant, with the support from our HR Advisor and Financial Manager will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of the UK Payroll for McLaren Applied.
- They will also play a vital role in providing comprehensive and flawless HR advice and administrative service to McLaren Applied.

**Principal Accountabilities**
- Process monthly payroll for approximately 250 employees.
- Be the first point of contact for any payroll related queries.
- Check reports from payroll with the support of our Financial Manager.
- Assist with entering any additional payments/information into our payroll system ADP.
- Chase HR for any missing/additional information as required.
- Process pension uploads each month onto our pension portal.
- Action monthly childcare vouchers on our ComputerShare portal.
- Directly liaising with ADP on processing P45s, HMRC New Starter Checklists and SMP, SPP, SSP payments.
- Managing our salary sacrifice schemes.
- Act as HRIS 'expert’ for Applied, first point of contact for all HRIS queries, responsible for ensuring data is updated and maintained and all employees are set-up correctly in the system.
- Coordinate probation period review reminders in line managers’ diaries as appropriate and provide the relevant forms for completion.
- Provide a right first time, flawless administration service, providing recommendations on continuous improvements.
- Prepare employee contracts and offer letters (via DocuSign), reference requests, contractual change letters and leaver documentation.
- Conduct and coordinate new starter onboarding, to include right to work checks prior to joining.
- Manage the leaver process, in addition to tracking all fixed term and contractor end dates and notifying managers as appropriate.
- Keep all electronic personnel files up to date.

**Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience**
- Experience working within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Comfortable liaising with payroll support functions.
- Excellent organisational skills - with the ability to proactively prioritise, multi-task and manage your own workload daily.
- Demonstrable payroll system experience. Experience with ADP would be beneficial.
- Demonstrable HRIS experience.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and processes in relation to the employee lifecycle and employee relations, as well as an understanding of relevant employment law.
- Computer literate with programmes such as word, excel and outlook.
- 2 years previous experience of payroll.
- Up-to-date understanding of HMRC regulations.
