Agency Support Worker

Summary of the role:
**To act as a Primary Worker to tenants within the supported living scheme. Offer daily assistance including, financial assistance, budget preparation, paying bills and rents, conducting, and monitoring risk and safeguarding from harm**
You will be expected to perform a variety of tasks, according to the operation of the service, these include safety checks, Health related checks, monitoring tenancy, budgets and social inclusion activities
You will receive appropriate training, including induction on housing related issues
**The tasks you will be asked to undertake are**:
**DELIVERY OF HOUSING SUPPORT - Required as needed to ensure the safe running of the service**
- Undertake initial Risk Assessments when the tenant moves into the property
- Ensure that a support plan is in place detailing how we will support independence so that the tenant has a good experience at our service
- Support the tenant to sign up to a GP practice, open bank accounts and other services they may require for independent living including day to day budget management
- Signpost to outside agencies that may help them such as benefit agencies, housing department, local welfare clinics
- Assist the tenant with any health-related matters as outcome in the support plan such as drug and alcohol issues, mental health practitioners, behaviour intervention
- Ensure the tenant has adequate food, toiletries, and monies for heating etc.
- Explain to the tenant the house rules and procedures for use of communal facilities such as kitchens and laundry and how to use the equipment safely.
- To assist the tenant to find permanent housing and work with them to this goal by registering them on the local housing register
- Report and record all service delivery and keep the Service Manager informed of any concerns regarding the tenant and the property.
- Safeguard the tenant from harm and abuse. Including contacting the Local Authority or emergency services if required
- Attend weekly house meetings
- Keep up to date with own personal development including mandatory training updates that are necessary for your job
**OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY**
You will be expected to ensure all Health and Safety is adhered to within the service and that you will check and update Risk Assessments and Support Plans and report any breaches of Health and Safety to the Service Manager and RIDDOR as required

- To be reliable, dependable, and available to cover at short notice
**ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS**
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Have 1 years’ experience within supported living and or similar environment
- Have 1 years’ experience working with people who are homeless have Mental Health needs or mild Learning Disabilities, Drug or Alcohol related issues.
- Have good organisational and administration skills
- Ability to be flexible in approach to supporting vulnerable adults
- Ability to work on own inicative and make decisions
- Willingness to take responsibility and be accountable for your actions
- Ability to respect confidentiality
- A working knowledge/understanding of occupational health and safety
- A working knowledge/understanding of supported living services
- Understanding that you must respect the fact that you are working in a nonobtrusive way in people’s own homes.
- Understanding of equality and diversity
- Willingness to assist people with basic health care
- Positive attitude to own health and work attendance
- Willingness to work within the service’s Aims, Objectives, and Codes of Practicecarers

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
**Salary**: £11.00-£12.00 per hour
