Financial Accountant - 12-month maternity cover - up to £50,000 (doe) Due to changes and developments within the Finance team of this large manufacturing business, an opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, analytical and technically experienced Financial Accountant to join the team for a 12-month maternity contract. The leadership role, initially maternity cover for 12 months, encompasses the day-to-day running of the financial accounts team with overall responsibility for revenue, revenue-related costs, HMRC compliance and trade receivables reporting alongside key financial compliance requirements The role involves being a key report to the Financial Controller and ultimately the Finance Director and will require the individual to lead and support the junior members of the finance team The individual will work closely with the Financial Controller to continue to develop the finance function Duties & Responsibilities Management and Reporting Preparation of monthly KPI and management accounts pack and ancillary reconciliations Key point of contact for the year-end statutory financial accounts process Monitor the finances and cash flow requirements to ensure sufficient cash is available to meet obligations as they fall due Compliance Meet necessary HMRC compliance obligations including, but not limited to, Corporation Tax and VAT Assist in the maintenance of the Company's accounting records and financial control environment Other Assume line management responsibility for junior finance team members Oversight and tracking of the credit control process Any other ad-hoc tasks that may arise **Requirements**: **Qualifications**: Qualified accountant (ICAS, ACCA or equivalent) Good technical knowledge of FRS102 Skills/Experience High levels of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Positive, pro-active individual with a "can do" attitude Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Previous Financial Accountant role experience would be beneficial however not necessary Experience in managing a small team would also be beneficial however not necessary
