Head of Data

**Job Summary**
We are delighted to be assisting a key strategic partner with the recruitment of a new Head of Data for a leading UK-wide law firm based in Belfast. Our client, a prestigious firm with a significant national presence, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Head of Data to lead their data function and drive the effective use of data across the organisation. This is a pivotal role, responsible for shaping the firm’s data strategy, ensuring data integrity, and leveraging data insights to support business decision-making and operational efficiency.

**Key Roles**:

- **Data Strategy Development**: Formulate and implement the firm’s data strategy, ensuring it aligns with the overall business objectives and enhances the firm’s ability to leverage data for strategic advantage.
- **Data Governance and Management**: Oversee the management and governance of the firm’s data assets, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- **Data Analytics and Insights**: Lead the development and utilisation of advanced data analytics and reporting tools to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making across the firm.
- **Team Leadership**: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration while supporting professional development and growth.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Collaborate with senior management and other departments to understand their data needs and ensure the delivery of solutions that drive business performance and efficiency.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Develop and Execute Data Strategy**: Create and implement a comprehensive data strategy that aligns with the firm’s strategic goals. Ensure the effective use of data to drive business insights, improve operations, and support strategic decision-making.
- **Ensure Data Quality and Compliance**: Implement and maintain robust data governance frameworks and practices to ensure the accuracy, security, and compliance of the firm’s data assets. Oversee data management processes and data integrity initiatives.
- **Lead Data Analytics and Reporting**: Oversee the development and utilisation of data analytics tools and reporting systems. Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support business objectives and improve performance.
- **Manage Data Team and Resources**: Lead and develop a team of data professionals, ensuring they are equipped to deliver high-quality data solutions. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the team and support their ongoing development.
- **Engage with Stakeholders**: Work closely with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to identify data needs and opportunities. Ensure that data solutions are aligned with business requirements and contribute to the firm’s strategic initiatives.

**Key Skills and Experience**:

- Proven experience in a senior data leadership role, ideally as Head of Data or similar, within a professional services or legal environment.
- Strong background in developing and implementing data strategies, with a focus on data governance, management, and analytics.
- Experience in leading and managing a data team, with the ability to inspire, mentor, and drive performance.
- Excellent analytical skills, with a track record of using data to drive business insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Deep understanding of data regulations and compliance requirements, with experience ensuring data security and integrity in a complex organisation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £85,000.00 per year
