**Health & Safety Advisor**

Location: Snowdonia, North Wales
- (Site based with accommodation paid)

**Salary / Benefits**:
£50,000 - £55,000 per annum dependant on experience plus car allowance accommodation where required and package

**Summary**

A leading infrastructure contractor is looking for an Health & Safety Advisor to join them on a £207 million pound power supply tunnel project for National Grid in Wales.

Supporting the project teams and supply chain on H&S matters and in particular guiding and supporting the construction teams throughout the construction phase from a Health, Safety and Wellbeing perspective with the support of the Projects Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Manager

The project is part of the Visual Impact Provision project in the Snowdonia National Park near Porthmadog in the north of the country.

The role is based on site in Snowdonia with full accommodation paid for where required.
- Have experience of working on major construction/civils projects
- Experience working on tunnelling projects
- Working knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation and best practice
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate or working towards securing the mentioned with a passion towards Health, Safety and Welfare.
- Knowledge of a variety of occupational environments, such as works at height, confined spaces and arrangement of equipment
- Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
- Computer literate with experience of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook
- Knowledge of safety devices to use in conjunction with tools and equipment in the workplace.
- Ability to evaluate safety practices, procedures, programmes, attitudes and awareness and to recommend methods of improvement.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience of delivering training modules is desirable.

**Responsibilities**
- Advise supervisors and operatives at sites, depots and offices upon statutory health and safety requirements.
- Provide assistance in the preparation of risk assessments and in the development of project management plans.
- Provide support in their role as a representative with respect to the principal contractor's duties under CDM.
- Collate monthly Health, Safety and Welfare data for review and approval by the Health and Safety Manager
- Regularly inspect HTUK work locations and activities
- Verify that temporary works procedures are implemented safely.
- Submit inspection reports to the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Manager (Lead) and project lead with copies to the site teams.
- Ensure that all accidents, incidents and dangerous occurrences are thoroughly investigated and
- Deliver Tool Box Talks and Induction Training as required.
- Support site based safety personnel in delivering their safety responsibilities.
