OVERALL SUMMARY
Join Close Brothers Commercial Acceptances Team where you will act as a shared resource within Commercial acceptances Ltd to provide support to the Lending Manager and Assistant Lending Manager who provide senior debt finance to property developers and investors. Working as part of the Commercial Acceptances team our ideal team member will have previous experience in Bank or building society experience in Lending or Mortgage administration/securities with excellent communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare Facility Letters and other contractual documentation on behalf of the Assistant Managers in line with Credit Committee approval, ensuring appropriate conditions are documented.
Attend internal meetings with the Lending and Assistant Lending Manager, taking notes, preparing minutes and producing follow up file notes and correspondence.
Instruct the bank's professional advisors (solicitors, valuers and monitoring surveyors) and thereafter ensure that their reports are received promptly and address all of the relevant issues (as set out in the formal instructions) and are generally of a quality which meets the bank's desired standards.
Assess in conjunction with the Lending Manager, valuation and quantity surveyors reports to ensure that the quality of the security and viability of a project (where appropriate) meets the bank's requirements.
Maintain customer account records in order that the integrity of the Bank's accounting records and data is maintained, liaising with the finance team as appropriate.
Maintain a follow up diary system for completed and ongoing facilities.
Prepare building payments and other stage drawdown’s on behalf of the Assistant Managers for authorisation by Credit Control, ensuring that the approved lending parameters and any special requirements have been met.
Provide the Assistant Managers with support in maintaining and monitoring the Lending Managers portfolio.
Liaise on an ad hoc basis with valuers, project monitoring surveyors and solicitors to follow up any queries prior to loan completions and on an ongoing basis once loans have been drawn.
Contribute to improvements and changes in Lending and Credit Control systems and procedures.
Attend Credit Committee Meetings on an ad hoc basis to gain a further understanding of the Lending Division and property market in general.
Identify and manage risks relating to the Property Division and ensure that all relevant controls are operating effectively.
Ensure that any compliance failures, risk incidents and control issues are reported and escalated in a timely and transparent manner.
Act with integrity and treat customers fairly at all times.
Ensure that all business conducted is in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.

Marketing knowledge and experience with an emphasis on social media
Ability to understand and follow all relevant compliance consideration including regulatory environment and appropriate processes, procedures and their implications.
Good communication skills.
Committed team player.
**Educated to A level or equivalent, with GCSE Grades**: B for Maths and English
Commercial awareness and genuine interest in the Banking industry and in Property Finance.
Bank or building society experience in Lending or Mortgage administration/securities role would be advantageous.
Good understand of all basic Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
