**Purpose**:
To ensure the efficient and accurate receipt, storage, and distribution of ingredients within the bakery. This role is critical in maintaining production schedules and upholding high-quality standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Receiving and Inspecting Ingredients**:

- Verify incoming deliveries against purchase orders and specifications.
- Inspect ingredients for quality, quantity, and expiration dates.
- Report any discrepancies or damages to stores supervisor.
- **Storage and Organization**:

- Store ingredients in designated areas according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Maintain a clean and organized storage environment.
- Rotate stock to prevent spoilage and ensure freshness.
- **Issuing Ingredients**:

- Accurately pick and issue ingredients to production lines based on production schedules.
- Engage with Tracesence to track stock levels and generate reports.
- Ensure proper labelling and documentation of issued ingredients.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Conduct regular physical inventory checks to reconcile stock levels with system records.
- Identify and report stock shortages or overages.
- Assist in implementing inventory control measures to optimise stock levels.
- **Adherence to Food Safety and Hygiene Standards**:

- Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations, including BRC standards and HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) principles.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- **General Warehouse Duties**:

- Assist with general stores tasks, such as cleaning, organising, and maintaining equipment.
- Participate in routine maintenance and housekeeping activities.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a warehouse or food manufacturing environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Physical fitness to lift and carry heavy items.
- Forklift certification (preferred but not essential).

**Working Conditions**:

- Warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Physical demands, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Potential exposure to allergens and hazardous materials.

By effectively managing ingredient inventory and ensuring timely supply to production lines, the Ingredient Stores Operative plays a vital role in the overall success of the food manufacturing operation.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £11.65 per hour

Expected hours: 39 per week
