**Payroll and Bookkeeping Assistant**

**Days**: Monday to Friday

**Hours**: 0900 - 1700

**Salary**:£25,000 - £30,000 (dependant to experience)

Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Payroll and Bookkeeping Assistant to join their Finance team and assist with a variety of key work streams.

**The role**
- Setting up new starter details on payroll system and processing leaver documentation
- Processing payments via Sage, ensuring relevant deductions are processed
- Processing, CSP, SSP, SMP, SPP and Holiday
- Preparation and completion of weekly/monthly RTI submissions
- Preparation and management of pension scheme
- Generating payslips, P45s etc
- End of year processing including collating and providing P60s, PAYE reconciliation and final submissions
- P11D calculation and submission
- Entering invoices and matching them to purchase orders
- Capturing receipt payments against invoices
- Posting of monthly bank transactions and reconciliation back to statements
- Reporting discrepancies
- Undertake various month -end tasks and quarterly VAT returns with good knowledge of Tax codes
- Assisting with the annual audit as required
- General administrative tasks

**Requirements**:

- Qualified to AAT level or similar
- 3yrs+ of overall payroll and bookkeeping experience
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, including SSP, holiday pay, shift allowances, redundancy pay
- Good knowledge of current employer legislation relating to statutory payments, Redundancy, Auto Enrolment and other PAYE matters
- Experience using Sage and Xero systems
- Keen eye for detail and diligent approach to work
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Excellent organisational skills
