About The Role
CBS’s Procurement Function is responsible for ensuring the Society’s requirements are met through its procurement of goods and services, ensuring value for money is achieved and risks appropriately identified and mitigated.
You’ll be part of the CIDO Procurement team within the Procurement Function, responsible for the management and execution of CIDO related procurement activity.CIDO is effectively our IT and Change functions coming together under a single umbrella.This isan exciting time to be joining the CBS’s CIDO Procurement team, because we are investing in our digital capability.
You’ll share responsibility for CIDO procurement and sourcing projects across managed services, software, hardware, telecoms and professional services, with the mandate to drive value through best in class strategic sourcing and category management.
You’ll be supporting, developing and implementing the CIDO Procurement Strategy for CBS, demonstrating the benefits of procurement within CIDO. Implementing that strategy is pivotal for the effective management of CBS’s entire procurement spend. You’ll be partof a small team and will work closely with senior stakeholders, in particular you’ll be responsible for ensuring that products and services are sourced competitively, cost effectively, in line with relevant policy requirements and managing risk to the Society.
You’ll be expected to have experience of procurement processes in a regulated environment (including category strategy development, RFI, RFP, contract drafting, negotiation and supplier management phases) and be able to support the management of major suppliersthrough the entire procurement process. As well as CIDO Procurement related activity, from time to time you may be asked to become involved in broader Function wide opportunities and activities.
As a member of the Society’s Procurement Function, the role also requires you to identify report and mitigate third party risk in line with the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
About You
You’ll be educated to degree level or equivalent, and have, or be working towards your professional qualification (MCIPS).
You’ll have prior experience of specific category/categories within CIDO IT procurement and have good knowledge of CIDO sourcing matters.
You’ll be able to develop effective relationships with both internal stakeholders and also with supplier organisations; communicating effectively at a senior level with highly developed written, verbal and presentation style and an ability to deliver changethrough relevant projects and initiatives.
You’ll have an understanding of the categories which make up CIDO and the insight as to how CBS can exploit its position in the market to deliver improved value to its members, coupled with the experience of the tools and techniques of category planning combinedwith deploying these collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve their broader business objectives.
You’ll have a learning mindset and the curiosity to find innovative solutions which deliver value for the Society and its members.
