**Co-Production Support Officer - Adult Social Care**

12 Months Fixed Term, Part Time 12 hours per week during Mon-Fri normal working hours.

£18,329 full time per annum (pro rata 12 hours a week £5,944.54)

Location: Chelmsford

**Job Purpose**

In Adult Social Care we want to enable people to live the best lives they can. We want to let local people and local communities decide what is best for them, and to provide care services that are right for each individual person.

We want to make sure that we work together with people who use services to think about how to improve what we do. We also want to help more disabled people to get a paid job.

This role will work alongside and be supported by the Business Planning and Communications Team to help with producing business plans and develop communications to staff, partner organisations and citizens. The role will also bring lived experience to support our current work and planning for the future of the service.

**Activities**

Support our communications and business planning activities by:

- Working as a member of our team on various communications and business planning activities.
- Sharing their lived experience to support and shape our work
- Helping to plan and organise online and in-person events and workshops and attend some of these
- Helping to raise awareness of disability, improve knowledge and training and provide good quality information to both Essex County Council staff and partner organisations
- Helping us to work with people who use our services so that we improve what we do. This would include working with other organisations such as Collaborate Essex

**Skills**
- Able to build working relationships with people
- Good written communication skills
- Able to talk to people in Essex County Council and with partners about their lived experience
- Keen to support people working within Adult Social Care at Essex County Council to deliver good outcomes for our residents
- Eager to make a positive difference to our Adult Social Care service

**Location and working hours**
- The person will work either from home or at County Hall in Chelmsford. Some time each week will be at County Hall.
- If working from home, they will need to have an internet connection.
- Most meetings will be in Chelmsford but sometimes at other places. Advance notice will be given for any changes in locations of meetings

12 hours a week, days to be agreed.
