Outreach Practitioner

Seven Resourcing are looking for 2 temporary Outreach Practitioners to work with the Autism Spectrum Education Team (ASET) in Scunthorpe. These positions are initially for a period of 3 months and are paying £13.71 PAYE or £16.82 umbrella per hour. The roleinvolves working from Monday - Friday (08:30 - 15:30).
**The role**:
To provide high quality and holistic support to children and young people with additional needs in the areas of child development, social communication and interaction, and social emotional, mental health needs through working with their educational settings,parents and other professionals.
To support the processes of diagnostic assessment, putting in place interventions and evaluating outcomes for children and young people with neurodevelopmental and diverse needs, including ASD and ADHD.
**Key Responsibilities**:
To work closely with educational settings, parent/ carers and other professionals in meeting the holistic needs of children who are differently enabled.
To offer consultation, advice and support to educational settings and parent/ carers about children and young people at early years support or school support and those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) through the Graduated Approach.
To help educational settings and parent/ carers put in place appropriate interventions in line with the SEND code of Practice and evaluate outcomes, including modelling the intervention.
To contribute to the training of professionals and parents in relevant areas of need e.g. parent courses in ASD, ADHD, professional courses such as Team Teach etc
To provide individual or small group work with children or young people as part of a social communication or social, emotional curriculum within their educational setting or at another Local Authority base.
To undertake direct work with children and young people at the point of diagnosis to help them understand themselves.
To keep accurate written/electronic records of intervention, in line with the practice of the local authority, which are outcome focused and contribute to the overall monitoring of the child or young person's progress in their area of need.
To facilitate wider discussion about a child or young person's needs within an educational setting by working closely with the SENCo, and other specialist professionals in school e.g. Behaviour Specialist or Mental Health Champion and parent/carers.
To support the process of assessment and interventions for children and young people as part of a diagnostic pathways or/and other specialist assessments including the EHCP process and gathering the voice of the child and parent/ carers.
**Applicant Requirements**:
- **Qualifications**:N/A.
- **Experience**:1+ year of experience working within a similar role.
- **Compliance**:Proof of ability to work and live in the UK. Current DBS check and references covering the last 3 years.
- **Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**:37 hours p/w.
