**Yard Operative**

W Hanson is an established independently ran builders merchant with many years experience in serving local community and south east England.

We are looking to expand our operation in Harrow due to ever increasing demand on building material and are looking for a yard assistant experienced in all aspects of merchant operations.

**Role and responsibilities**
- Load delivery vehicles accurately
- Pick loads ready for deliveries
- Unload incoming vehicles and ensure goods are put away
- Check deliveries before signing
- Serve and load customers with their requirements - only load goods on a ticket
- Keep the branch looking clean and tidy, to make a great first impression on our customers
- Maintain stock levels in yard areas, carrying out regular stock counts
- Report any Health and Safety issues to the branch manager
- Keep forklifts in good condition
- Ensure daily walk round checks are completed
- Ensure all paperwork is passed to the office promptly.
- Ensure that the security of the stock and branch is maintained as practical.
- Report stock shortages to the office
- Treat all customers with courtesy
- 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Person Specification**
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated with high standards
- An organised team player with a can - do attitude
- Honesty and integrity
- Effective time management and flexibility in working patterns needed
- Good stock knowledge
- FLT license

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£27,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
