**34* hours per week, Monday-Friday**:
**Purpose**
To provide person-centred support to the people who use Branching Out.
To follow the support plans of the people we support and promote their rights.
To provide communication that meets the needs of the individuals.
To provide fun/therapeutic and purposeful activities to meet the individual needs**.**

**Your responsibilities**
- Provide and develop positive communication with service users promoting a total communication approach to meet the individual’s needs. Using a variety of different communication methods for example Makaton, facial expressions body language, objects of reference, images, and pictures.
- Provide confident communication (verbal, non-verbal and written) to all, that is open, transparent, accurate and professional during all interactions.
- Take personal responsibility to actively promote the rights and wishes of those you support and challenge appropriately.
- Actively contribute in discussions to improve service delivery and service users experience.
- Seek opportunities to understand change a respond positively.
- Demonstrate in practice the importance of reflective practice.
- Work as a team to provide a high-quality day opportunities.
- Promote, enable and advocate for individuals to have active participation in their support (including health).
- Demonstrate a creative and therapeutic approach in your day to day working with service users to enable them to get the most out of their time in service.
- Take active responsibility for the health and safety of your work area and activities you are supporting service users to complete
- Confidently and appropriately raise concerns about quality, safety, and performance.
- Provide a flexible approach to working and meeting the needs of service users.

**Desirable**
- Level 2 NVQ or equivalent in health
- Training in first aid, Manual handling, fire Safety, food safety etc
- Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities
- Experience with administration of medication in line with local policy
- Experience in record keeping
- All staff are required to respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment._
