**Catering Assistant**

**We seek to employ a Catering Service Assistant 24hrs a week 9.00am to 3.30pm Term time £10.42 per hour..**

As our Catering Service Assistant will be responsible for ensuring that all catering areas are cleaned and maintained to a high standard. You will also assist with the production and service of food and beverages throughout the School. Saint Felix is a co-educational boarding school and the kitchen is a busy operation offering a food service to over 450 staff and pupils seven days a week during term time and for commercial letting that takes place outside of term-time. The team is comprised of Chefs and Catering Assistants who are responsible for delivering high quality food from raw ingredients in both the dining room.

**Food**
- Assisting the Chef with the preparation and presentation of meals and snacks, include washing, peeling, and cutting fruit, vegetables, meat and fish and preparing sauces and salads
- Set up service counters and serving meals or assisting pupils and guests to serve themselves
- Contribute towards the delivery of hospitality and events around site including the set-up, service and clear down as required
- Attend all mandatory food safety and health and safety staff training, ensuring health and safety regulations are always followed.

**Cleaning**
- Ensuring that the kitchen, service areas, dining areas and tableware are clean and tidy to a high standard and maintained in accordance with the cleaning schedule
- Cleaning fridges, store cupboards, floors and washing up crockery and equipment, as well as the safe disposal of kitchen rubbish and organising the collection of refectory laundry

**Other**
- To develop and maintain a professional relationship with staff, pupils and their parents, answering their queries or requests in a polite and efficient manner
- Present a smart, professional appearance and good personal hygiene
- Attend meetings and training sessions as required
- To contribute to the life of the school through participation in meetings and after school activities such as sports, culture or arts events
- Undertake any other responsibilities as may reasonably be required from time to time
