We have partnered with a fantastic jewellery retailer and money lender who are seeking a Payroll Advisor to join their lovely team.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Advisor to join a highly successful and growing business, and to be part of a highly supportive, fun and friendly HR team.
Payroll Advisor - the role
Supporting the People Services Manager in all payroll matters, you will provide administrative support and be the first point of contact for payroll queries.
Your key responsibilities will include:
*Assisting in processing monthly payroll, ensuring its accuracy and that it is completed to deadline
*Specific responsibility of processing all leaver payments, Maternity pays and Attachment of Earnings Orders.
*Processing promotions, transfers, overtime, change of hours
*Providing Maternity leave/pay advice, administer all maternity leave, process SMP and SPP payments
*Maintaining the relevant databases and spread sheets
*Supporting the People Services Manager in responding to enquiries from the tax office, benefits agency and other payroll agencies
*Maintaining employee records in the HR/Payroll database
*Being the first point of contact for all pay queries and responding to them within 48hrs
*Any other ad hoc as requested by the People Services team, providing cover and support to other team members
This role will suit a Payroll Advisor with at least 2 years' experience in a similar role and ideally from a retail background. This retailer has a large portfolio of stores and approx. 1500 employees, so previous experience running payroll for large teamsis essential.
Essential requirements include:
*Solid payroll experience - although training will be provided on the payroll system used, you will be ready to hit the ground running
*Experience dealing with payroll queries and handling queries in a polite manner within agreed time frames
*Strong Excel skills
*Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, HR/Payroll systems
*Ability to work to strict deadlines with high attention to detail, using your own initiative
*The ability to work with complete discretion
