Senior Qc Technician

A growing diagnostics company has an exciting opportunity for a Senior QC Technician to join its team. Your role will be to support the ELISA QC department, ensuring all kits released for sale globally meet specifications and are of the highest quality.As a senior technician your role will also include supporting and guiding junior members of the team. To be considered, you must have previous experience working in a GMP QC environment and have a working knowledge and/or understanding of ELISA and PCR processes.
This role is offered on a 4 day working week between Monday and Friday, 8am - 5.15pm
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other responsibilities may also be assigned.
- QC testing of incoming orders
- Monitoring of QC data to provide an overview of kit performance (trend analysis)
- Representing the department during managers absence
- Provide guidance and support to QC Technician(s)
- Identify and report issues critical to kit release
- Maintain a good line of communication with QC management
- Monitor manufacturing, testing, range setting and other activities related to pre-diluted and freeze-dried reference controls
- Maintain calibration systems under guidance of line manager/ supervisor
- Review documents relevant to QC
- Contribute to process improvement and documentation
- Upkeep of QC databases
- Completing QC transactions on the ERP system
- Take lead on management of the retain storage system of test kits
- Responsible for routinely running a stock check on internal controls and informing management of any low levels
- Responsible for training team members as and where required

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**
- Scientific based degree or the equivalent work experience in a relevant role.
- Understanding of ELISA and/or PCR processes and workflows
- Ability to use pipettes
- Ability to be methodical, conscientious, organized and show attention to detail
- Capability to train team members in certain procedures as required by the business
- Ability to work proactively both individually and in a team
- Good communication and time management skills
- Adaptability to plan and to work with a fluctuating testing schedule
- To maintain a high level of integrity, motivation and reliability in all work
- To be decisive where needed, provide relevant guidance, mentoring and leadership to the team
**WORKING CONDITIONS & HOURS**
- Require wearing laboratory coats, appropriate footwear and relevant work safety equipment.
- This role is offered on a 4 day working week between Monday and Friday, 8am - 5.15pm
