A growing diagnostics company has an exciting opportunity for an R&D Technician to join its team. Your role will be to support the delivery of R&D team targets by completing experimental work on multiple live projects. Techniques used will include ELISA,SDS-PAGE and Western Blot. To be considered you will either, hold a BSc in a life science and have gained some previous experience using ELISA, or, have the equivalent extended lab experience and use of ELISA.

This role is offered on a 4 day working week between Monday and Friday, 8am - 5.15pm

**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Essential functions of the job are listed below. Other responsibilities may also be assigned.
- The running and interpretation of ELISA as assigned
- Recording of experiments and resulting data and suggest conclusions through interpretation
- Performing analytical techniques such as SDS-PAGE and Western blot
- Carrying out equipment calibrations
- Communication of findings to other members of the R&D Team
- Maintaining stocks of critical R&D components
- Coating of ELISA plates
- To assist in production and QC as required by the business
- Daily planning to accommodate their required multiple experiments and testing
- Demonstrate the ability to design and execute simple experiments
- Regularly uses the pilot study system, and is familiar with the DRF system and how it is used
- Contributes to testing of product performance characteristics when a new kit is validated prior to transfer to production
- Can confidently contribute to weekly R&D meetings

**EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS**
- BSc in relevant scientific discipline, or have the equivalent experience
- Minimum 1 Year experience in running ELISA
- Experience in analytical techniques is desirable
- Experience in industry would be advantageous
- Experience in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis
- Experience of working in a GMP/GLP environment would be desirable

**WORKING CONDITIONS & HOURS**
- Require wearing laboratory coats, appropriate footwear and relevant work safety equipment.
- This role is offered on a 4 day working week between Monday and Friday, 8am - 5.15pm
