We are looking to hire an **Assistant Code Coach** to start immediately with the first after school club starting after the October half term break.
The Assistant Code Coach is a casual hours, on-site role located at primary schools in Derby and surrounding areas. The Assistant Code Coach will support the delivery of engaging computing and coding after school clubs. Responsibilities include assisting with classroom management, aiding in the set up and tidy up of each session, and providing hands-on support to students during coding and computing activities. The role also involves ensuring a safe and supportive learning environment for all participants.
This role would be well-suited for those on their journey towards completing their teaching qualification, or have a desire to start one. It could also be suited to someone with coding experience who wants to pass on their skills to the next generation of digital citizens.
A desire and motivation for job progression, working towards becoming a Head Coach, would be welcome.
Full training will be given to the successful applicant to enable them to deliver outstanding and rewarding computing and coding workshops in a variety of formats.
**Location**:Derby and surrounding areas
**Hours**: Expected availability is Monday to Friday 3-5pm for after school clubs
We are a rapidly growing company with new clubs and sessions being added to schools and other venues in surrounding areas regularly. In addition, there will be opportunity to support curriculum lessons in schools and holiday clubs out of term-time within the area too.

**Responsibilities**:
- Assist in the supervision and engagement of children in after-school clubs, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Facilitate educational and recreational programs tailored to children's needs, including those with special education requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding children's progress and any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organised space, ensuring all materials and equipment are ready for use.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall experience for children.
- A positive attitude to helping young people succeed through teamwork, confidence building and exploration.
- A sound general knowledge of IT/Computers (Full training provided)
- An excellent communicator who is well organised and punctual.
- A huge passion for developing children’s digital skills.
- A driving license and access to a car for travel to schools.
**Desirable**:
- A teaching qualification, childcare qualification, teaching assistant qualification, experience of teaching or training young people (or be working towards).
This role would suit a retired Teacher, Trainee Teacher, Teaching Assistant, Trainee Teaching assistant, or students studying towards early years care qualifications. As well as computing students and any student that would like to strengthen their CV by gaining experience of working with children, or anyone passionate about helping children.
