Cambridge, United Kingdom The Royal Society of Chemistry Full time

Overview:
The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has an opportunity for a change management specialist to join us on an exciting contract supporting our Digital Transformation programme. The Change Specialist will put in place the change management activity to define, prepare, implement, and sustain the people aspects of change required to successfully deliver the key projects that sit under this programme of work.

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) is an influential learned society, professional body, and scientific publisher with a purpose to help the chemical science community to make the world a better place. We exist for our community and in doing so, strengthen and champion the profession and the discipline of chemistry, as well as serving the public interest. The chemical sciences are essential to our everyday lives and vital in helping respond to some of the world’s biggest challenges, from biotech and healthcare energy and climate challenge, and to infrastructure and agriculture.

As a result, the RSC is always changing and evolving to meet its customer, member, and chemistry community needs both for the present and future. This opportunity has arisen for a change management specialist to work on several projects that support the RSC’s Digital Transformation programme.

Working as part of the Digital Transformation Programme Team, the Change Specialist will play a key role in ensuring this programme of work meets objectives on time and on budget by increasing employee adoption and usage. This person will focus on the people side of change - including changes that impact business processes, systems and technology, job roles, behaviours, and organisation structures. The primary responsibility will be creating and implementing change management strategies and plans that maximise employee adoption and usage and minimise resistance and disruption to the organisation.

We are looking for:

- Track record within successful global digital transformational programmes of using change management principles, methodologies, and tools to assess need and deliver appropriate solutions and outputs.
- A solid understanding of organisational issues, challenges and how people go through a change process (change management or Prosci certification and experience with Prosci ADKAR Model is a plus).
- Evaluation experience including setting metrics from the beginning and measuring the impact and benefits of change interventions on the organisation.
- Exceptional communicator and active listener, able to influence people of different styles and at all levels, able to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to articulate technical content in a way that non-technical employees can engage with, establishing and maintaining strong relationships and work well as part of a team.
- Resilient, tenacious, with a natural inclination for planning strategy and tactics, able to manage multiple competing priorities with high attention to detail, problem solving and root cause identification skills.
- Flexible, adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and forward looking with a holistic approach.
- Ability to adapt change management approaches dependent on project management approach - experience of delivering change management solutions within agile, waterfall and hybrid projects.

This opportunity is available on a part-time or full time (28 - 35 hours per week over 4-5 days per week) fixed term basis for 18 months. The contractual base for this role is our Cambridge office, however we are currently embracing hybrid working, and therefore you will have the opportunity to work from a location other than this, as agreed with your line manager. Applicants should be aware that there is an expectation that employees will attend the offices as needed for their role.

At the Royal Society of Chemistry, we support development and offer excellent benefits.
