**Job Title: B&Q Cambuslang Hygienist**Grade: W1**

**Summary and purpose of position**:

- The Warehouse Hygienist is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall safety of the warehouse and communal areas. This role involves performing a variety of cleaning tasks, operating industrial equipment i.e. Ride-On sweeper and adhering to strict health and safety standards to ensure a clean and orderly environment for all employees. _

**Duties and**responsibilities**:

- Perform routine and deep cleaning of all warehouse areas, including floors, racking, machinery, and equipment, using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
- Sweep, mop, scrub, to remove dust, debris, and spills, using both manual and industrial cleaning equipment like brushes and both walk behind and ride on sweepers (full training will be provided)
- Clean and sanitize communal areas.
- Collect and dispose of waste and recycling materials in the designated receptacles, ensuring proper sorting and adherence to environmental regulations.
- Ensure that all exits, aisles, and walkways are kept clear of obstructions to prevent trip hazards and maintain safety.
- Report any spillages or damages, hazards, or maintenance issues to the warehouse shift manager or team leaders.
- Maintain janitorial equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition and report any defects.
- Manage and restock cleaning supplies, notifying management when inventory is low.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Tasks can include working at heights using ladders and heavy lifting of items / machinery.

**Experience,**Skills, and A**ttributes**:

- **Experience**:Proven experience in a cleaning or janitorial role, preferably within a warehouse, factory, or industrial environment.
- **Knowledge**:Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment.
- **Attention to Detail**:Meticulous approach to work with a high standard for cleanliness and hygiene.
- **Teamwork**:Ability to work effectively with others and communicate clearly with warehouse staff and management.
- **Initiative**:Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and manage a cleaning schedule efficiently.
- **Flexibility**:Adaptability to work mainly dayshift hours with possibly one earlier start per week where operational requirements allow. We are flexible on hours worked.
- **Reliability**:Punctual and consistent attendance is essential for maintaining a clean and safe environment.
