We are looking for a dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join a team of committed and effective MDT Coordinators supporting a busy Cancer team which includes consultants, nursing and managers. The role demands a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as the post holder will be entering patient information onto the Cancer Database (Somerset).
The post also involves facilitation of the MDT meetings; ensuring patients are managed along the cancer pathway in accordance with national Cancer Targets and Cancer Audits. Knowledge of Cancer Targets and Cancer Database (Somerset) would be an advantage.
The successful applicant will possess excellent communication skills, will be efficient at organising and prioritising a busy workload and remain calm under pressure; they will have an understanding of patient confidentiality.
The post holder must be willing to be flexible in their working arrangements as an early start may be required one morning a week, and days may vary, particularly during periods of leave within the team.

Responsible for monitoring the 31 day and 62 day Cancer Waiting Time Targets, analysing causes and providing support documentation of any breaches.
To validate, produce and present clinical data information for the Cancer Support Manager and Cancer Manager.
To provide Shadow Monitoring performance information for all tumour sites.
To be a point of contact for internal personnel and external organisations regarding Cancer data, resolving queries independently or referring on to the most appropriate member of staff as required.
Responsible for developing new format data presentation to fit the needs of the service.
To ensure that the data quality is consistent across all the relevant data sources.
Attend specific Multi Disciplinary Meetings to gather relevant cancer information where necessary
The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services to West Cheshire and to Welsh patients covered by Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. The Trust works collaboratively within the wider Cheshire and Merseyside Health and Care Partnership. Its services are provided from three locations:

- The Countess of Chester Hospital: providing 438 general and acute beds.
- Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 56 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
- Tarporley War Memorial Hospital: a base for community services which serve the local rural population.

The Trust employs over 6258 staff (headcount) which includes temporary bank staff and provides acute emergency and elective services, primary care direct access services and obstetric services to a population of approximately 407,000. This includes 357,000 residents in Chester and West Cheshire which includes Ellesmere Port and Neston as well as the Deeside area of Flintshire which has a population of approximately 50,000.
The Trust is a busy district general hospital and in 2022/2023, there were more than 503,342 patient attendances (inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic) ranging from a simple outpatient appointment to major cancer surgery. This is an increase of nearly 10,000 compared to the previous year when there were 494,387 patient attendances.
