**Resource Coordinator ( People Team) - York**
Welcome to TRU East:
The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) aims to deliver faster, longer, more frequent, and more reliable services across the north of England, from Newcastle, Hull and York towards Manchester and Liverpool via Leeds.
The aim of the TRU East Alliance is to transform the East of Leeds route allowing people to travel faster, more reliably and in greater comfort between the North’s great cities. Providing passengers with more choice, more seats, and better facilities ona safer, cleaner, more environmentally friendly railway.
The Coordinator role determines the resource requirements for the TRU East Alliance programme, providing ongoing support to the programme and collaborating on resource management with multiple teams throughout the Alliance. It is a results-driven role witha key focus of ensuring that projects are assigned or recruit the correct resources at the right time.
The role requires extensive knowledge of resource allocation within the rail industry and will be able to accurately assess resource needs, provide clarity on whose best placed to fill the roles, and bring greater efficiency to realise the projects' goals.
**What you will be doing**
- Ensure that appropriate alliancing behaviours and ‘best for project’ approaches are always adopted, leading by example in the pursuit of successful delivery of the Programme to the benefit of all Alliance Members.
- Liaise with the Commercial, Planning and Project teams to understand current and future prelims resource requirements (actual v’s plan).
- Oversee future resource requirements and either
- assign available internal resources to the project’s based on the skills and experience required; or
- Identify timescales of when vacant roles will be required and the process that will be undertaken to fill that vacancy in a timely manner.
- Provide periodic reports (as requested) highlighting resourcing issues and recommending solutions.
- Ensure the utilisation management system is completed to record accurate staff utilisation and forecasting.
- Develop a list of priority roles to be filled and ensure internal ownership is assigned and the vacancies are tracked and managed.
- Monitor interviews taking place, providing support where required.
- Collaborating on resource requirements with internal Alliance departments as well as Alliance partner organisations and undertake regular resource forecasting meetings.
- Create parity by ensuring even spread of roles across the Parent Companies and that these are clearly communicated to ensure there is a Parent Company leading each role.
- Responsible for ensuring all activities are compliant with all Network Rail and TRU East standards and procedures.
- Monitor UK employment law changes to forecast any trends in resource management and resource availability.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties required in line with capabilities, the needs of the project, and the wider TRU East programme.
**Who we are looking for**
- Experience in a similar role within rail/construction related industry.
- Experience of collating and reviewing large volumes of data and summarising the data in varying ways.
- High degree of commercial acumen with a strategic view within a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Personal resilience and ability to respond positively to pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.and to prioritise and manage a diverse workload.
