Cornerstone Children’s Homes are looking for a Waking Nights Care Worker for our home in Reading.

**Position**:
Permanent - full time

Hours: 40 hours per week - 21:30pm - 07:30am

Nights: Monday - Sunday. To work the rota as required

**Job role**:

- To work therapeutically with vulnerable, challenging young people by supporting them practically and emotionally and to help them work towards agreed plans for their future
- To be a positive role model, to include high standards of personal presentation for young people.
- To encourage young people to develop meaningful relationships and attachments in line with their individual care plan.
- To complete detailed computer records, write reports and assist with the general upkeep of the home.

**Residential Care Worker**:

- To hold, or be willing to work towards, a Level 3 Diploma Residential Childcare / NVQ Children and Young Peoples Workforce.
- Ability to work with young people from all backgrounds.
- Ability to cope with and respond to challenging behaviour in a constructive way.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to work within a team.
- **Must be at least 23 years old**

The successful applicant will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS disclosure (or be checked against the update service) as part of the vetting and barring process.

Pay: Up to £12.00 per hour
