Personal Care Assistant for female with hearing and sight impairment Bristol FTE £20,800 (at current rate of £10.00 p/h)
- I’m a woman in my early 50’s living in Brentry, Bristol. I am looking to recruit 2 female Personal Assistants who will provide the support I need to enable me to live independently. People who are caring, friendly, patient and who can understand and deliver person centred needs.
Total hours 20 hours - job share. I am looking for companionship for community activities, social outings/holidays and to attend health appointments. As well as mínimal support on rare occasions with personal care.

Times will vary dependant on the time of year and requirements. Therefore, a degree of flexibility is essential.
- Tues: 3pm - 10pm Bowling. Collect from Brentry, convey, and
- Support/encourage me to participate.
- Weds: 1:30pm - 5pm Bingo. Meet me in Bristol City Centre.

Weekends: anytime for outings.
- In the future there may be a requirement for the PA to stay overnight, only once I have moved from current address.
- The successful applicant will need to be reliable, organised, and have a flexible approach to work. My PA’s should work together and be open to cover one another during periods of absence.

As a Personal Assistant your job will be to provide:

- Community access, to complete shopping, attend health appointments and social activities.
- Food preparation.
- Accompany me on holiday. All expenses paid. Next planned holiday is in Edinburgh during December.
- On extremely rare occasions I may require support into the bath.
- Using public transport at times.
- Essential Criteria:

- British Sign Language (BSL) - competent in BSL to be able to communicate.
- A clean driving licence, business insurance and use of your own car to transport.
- Food hygiene skills. I am allergic to nuts.
- Non-smoker due to asthma.
- I am sensitive to perfume and ask it is not worn.
- Clean appearance. I am allergic to cats and clothing must be free of fur. I am not allergic to dogs.
- You must respect my privacy and understand the need for confidentiality.
- An understanding of social care, patience & good communications skills, responsible, confident, sociable & reliable.

Desirable criteria:

- Working knowledge and understanding of autism.

The position will be paid at £10 per hour and will be paid through the PAYE scheme. This is not a cash in hand position. Actual earnings £10,400.00 shared

You must be legally able to work in the UK. Proof of ID, two references and a full DBS check will be required, before anyone is hired. There will be a trial period of 12 weeks.
