Health & Safety Advisor

**SUMMARY**
Manage the performance of H&S activities in pursuit of overall company objectives. Plan and develop systems and procedure to improve the operating H&S efficiencies within the business.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Evaluating performance and providing practical and proportionate health and safety advice and support to company personnel.
- Engaging with key internal and external stakeholders including management, employees, occupational health and environmental professionals, regulatory agencies and government officials.
- Controlling and supervising H&S whilst preventing occupational risk.
- Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement.
- Monitor, measure and report on compliance with all H&S legislation applicable to the company’s activities.
- Source timely and competent advice from regulatory authorities as may be appropriate.
- Monitoring the safety aspects of the plant and process.
- Perform audits out of the schedule upon request of the MD.
- Objectively investigate incidents and accidents and report results.
- Run toolbox talks whenever necessary.
- Monthly meeting on H&S issues (H&S committee) and suggestions.
- Report to the MD on training need/request of personnel.
- Any other function requested by the MD.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Proven experience in a similar role ideally within a related manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Minimum of a NEBOSH National General Certificate Level 3.
- CertIOSH working towards CMIOSH.
**EXPERIENCE**
- At least five years’ experience in H&S management, gaining knowledge of ISO 45001.
**ADDITIONAL SKILLS**
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft office programmes, document management systems and approved procedures.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Able to provide a pragmatic approach to H&S and the ability to engage and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, from site level to the boardroom.

Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
