Warehouse Team Leader - Permanent

As the Warehouse Team Leader your role is to oversee all goods being received and despatched from the business and to ensure the control of all returned/decommissioned equipment. You will ensure all training of new starters is completed correctly and processes are always followed. Ensure staff are safe and compliant with health and safety when completing day to day tasks and are always following health and safety measures. Oversee the team and make sure they understand their tasks for the day and the objectives set by the business.

Hours: 9am - 6pm (also to be flexible for late night and weekend rotation cover)

Some of your Duties and Responsibilities include:

- You must ensure all work is followed through in a timely manner and to customer satisfaction.
- Work closely with your internal customers and various departments to build and enhance overall understanding and relationships.
- Promote positive working attitudes, initiatives and good morale across the team.
- Be proactive and solution focussed to always ensure the smooth running or your area.
- Work with other departments across the business and ensure clear communication between warehouse and service delivery. Carry out full and detailed investigations where necessary, driving the queries to satisfactory completion.
- Manage escalations effectively and be able to trouble-shoot under pressure.
- Involvement in 5s audits where and when required and take a pro-active approach to organise the stock to maintain stock integrity and increase putting away and picking efficiencies across all work streams.
- Compliance to H&S / Quality regulations and procedures to ensure the safety of you and other site personnel.
- Operating a counterbalance FLT, Bendi FLT, pallet truck as required and to be proficient in manual handling policies and practices.
- Be proactive in putting forward continuous improvement ideas to your line manager and the senior team.
- To enhance the overall customer experience by overseeing accurate and quick responses to enquiries regarding your area.
- To build trust and confidence with your internal customers and the various teams across the company.
- Ensure health, safety, quality, and environmental objectives are communicated, understood, and progressed, actions completed, and any problems are reported to the G Comms SHEQ Consultant / HSE Committee.
- Encourage team members to report hazards and raise health, safety, quality, and environmental concerns. These should be logged onto iAuditor or the SHEQ log for management review.
- To oversee second checking of all picks and investigate shortages with the Inventory
- Team highlighting any issues to the Purchasing Dept.
- Follow investigations through the right channels and ensure the details are fed back as a solution.
- To implement the relevant controls to ensure the put away, pick and pack of all products is done properly and accurately - produce the relevant reports, data and
- KPIs to share with your line manager.
- To undertake any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.

The person for the role will:

- Have good all-round knowledge of the warehousing and distribution environment - minimum expected 3 years.
- Have good people management skills and experience - minimum expected 2 years.
- Have a good knowledge of all warehousing processes (goods in, goods out, returns, stock control) and of general business processes.
- Have good IT skills including ERP/WMS and all Microsoft Packages including

Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Have excellent attention to detail.
- Have an excellent health & safety and quality systems awareness.
