**Salary**: £1350-£1600

**Hours**: 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are looking for a qualified SEND teaching assistant for a role within a PRU provision within Tameside, Greater Manchester. You will be working with KS3 children, who are academically working at a KS2 level, with special educational needs. The childrenhave struggles communicating with others.

The learning support assistant will work in partnership with the teacher with individual pupils and/or with small groups of pupils to assist in the process of, and to promote, teaching and learning. The LSA will cover groups in the absence of the teacher,supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.

A willingness to learn

Good attendance and punctuality

Experience of working or caring for children of primary age

Ability to communicate well both orally and in writing

Ability to judge when advice/assistance is needed to meet pupils/adults needs and to react calmly and quickly in an emergency

An understanding of and a commitment to the need for confidentiality

Ability to use basic technology - computer, photocopier, iPad etc.

Ability to relate well to children and adults

Work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities

Experience in working with children with SEND and SEMH

Contribute to the overall ethos, work and aims of the PRU.
