**INTRODUCTION TO WHITEHEAD-ROSS EDUCATION AND CONSULTING**
Whitehead-Ross Education and Consulting (WREC) is an education and social welfare organisation. Founded in 2012, we deliver a variety of high-quality skills-related programmes and social services provision.
Our programmes include support for unemployed individuals to retrain and secure jobs, vocational training programmes, adult education and social services provision such as support for families who have children with disabilities and parenting support.
With a team of 83 staff, we supported 1,115 individuals across our programmes in 2020/21 in South Wales, Dorset, Wiltshire and Sussex. Our existing clients include five local authorities, the Department for Work and Pensions, and Education & Skills Funding Agency.
**INTRODUCTION TO ROLE**

Do you have the ability to make strong connections with others whilst adapting your approach depending on your audience? The role of Traineeship Recruitment Officer could be ideal for you.
The Traineeship Recruitment Officer works collaboratively with our dedicated Traineeships tutor to ensure the ongoing success of our provision. This varied role will primarily involve engaging with young people and fellow providers to promote the Traineeships provision. You will have the opportunity to support the tutor in the classroom, arrange work placements for learners and meet with young people and enrol them on to the programme.
You will require an Enhanced DBS Disclosure for this role, which the Company will pay for.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead on stakeholder engagement to recruit new learners onto the programme set against KPI targets
- Establish constructive relationships with learners and interact with them according to individual needs
- Encourage learners to interact with others and engage in activities led by the Tutor
- Contact employers to arrange work placements for learners and undertake workplace visits to complete risk assessments
- Meet prospective learners to discuss the programme and conduct enrolment sessions
- Promote good behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with established policy and encourage learners to take responsibility for their own behaviour
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
- Take an active role in your professional development
- At all times ensure that safe working practices are adopted in compliance with relevant health and safety procedures
- Demonstrate commitment to equality of opportunity and treatment and comply with company policy and procedures and relevant legislation relating to equality and diversity.
- Provide appropriate pastoral support to learners to enable them to complete their course.
- Any other reasonable request or duties commensurate to the post.
**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
**Qualifications and Knowledge**
- English and Mathematics qualification at Level 2
- Understanding of the importance of forming and maintaining appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people
- Experience of supporting young people with challenging behaviour
**Skills and abilities**
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and effective interpersonal skills
- Excellent ICT skills
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills
- Able to work accurately towards targets and deadlines
**Personal qualities**
- Have emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
- Ability to communicate effectively with learners from a wide range of abilities
