Medical Receptionist

This role is heavily telephone based. Reception answer around 300 calls per day as well as making outgoing calls to patients on behalf of the clinicians and administration team. Alongside this, we also process prescriptions, chaperone GP consultations, handle post, register and deduct patients from the patient list and deal with general enquires. You will always be busy, but the days go by quickly and our team are very supportive.
Other duties involve:
- Offer general assistance to the surgery team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors
- Assist and signpost patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way

Centrally located in Northampton, we are one of Northamptonshire’s leading GP training practices, consisting of 6 partner GPs, 3 salaried GP’s, 4 Practice Nurses and a support team looking after approximately 12,000 patients. We have always prided ourselves on providing high quality service with excellent results from patient satisfaction surveys.
We are part of the Grand Union Primary Care Network (PCN) working collaboratively with Abington Medical Centre, Greenview Surgery, Abington Park Surgery and Leicester Terrace Health Care Centre.
**Hours and pay**
Monday: 08.00-18.30 (9.5hrs)
Tuesday: Day off
Wednesday: 08.00-18.30 (9.5hrs)
Thursday: 08.00-18.30 (9.5hrs)
Friday: 08.00-18.00 (9hrs)
Total: 37.5hrs
Holiday: 30 days including bank holidays
At the moment, we do not offer an extended hours service. However, if we do in the future you may be required to cover these on a rotating basis. These consist of two early mornings, one late evening and a Saturday morning.
