**Lead Web Developer (WordPress)**

Brighton - Office Based

We are looking for a Lead Web Developer (WordPress) to manage our thriving Design and Development team at Bamboo Nine.

We are Bamboo Nine, a leading digital media agency specialising in SEO, PPC, Digital PR and Content in the centre of Brighton. We work with an interesting portfolio of clients in various industries, including construction, legal, medical, media and lifestyle.

We need someone ambitious with a 'can do’ attitude. You should have a proven track record of leading a team and a history of developing and delivering bespoke WordPress websites.

The role will entail:

- Managing the Design and Development team, so strong people skills are a must.
- Creating, presenting and delivering on web development proposals.
- Delegating and managing the flow of web development work from internal teams and external sources.
- Developing bespoke websites, landing pages, and custom page elements.
- Working closely alongside other managers to ensure a collaborative and seamless way of working across departments.
- Responsible for time management for the team, working to deadlines and reporting on hours.
- Identifying training needs and creating training resources and team road maps.
- Providing training to juniors and mid-level developers to ensure their continuous development.

Skills and experience:

- Experience of managing and motivating a team is essential.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
- Experience delivering fully responsive and accessible WordPress websites.
- Proven track record of delivering bespoke WordPress themes.
- Experience developing websites within the Gutenberg framework.
- Experience developing using Advanced Custom Fields.
- Proficient with PHP, HTML, and modern CSS.
- Excellent communication skills to explain technical issues in a jargon-free manner and provide clear feedback.
- Experience with technical SEO principles.

Desirable:

- Experience with other content management systems.
- Experience using Git.
- Experience with JavaScript.
- An interest in UX design.
