About The RoleDue to the continued success of our Activations team, and expansion of Avonline Networks we have an exciting opportunity for a SHEQ Advisor to join our team in Reading.

Avonline Networks deliver service excellence on a nationwide basis. From the national fibre networks which millions of homes and businesses rely upon every day, to the infrastructure that delivers the latest technology to Multi-Dwelling Units (MDU's) across the UK. Providing installation and maintenance of infrastructure to MDU's across the UK for public sector, social housing, and private landlords, which include the latest technology, FTTP and IRS.

**The role & responsibilities**:
Your role will be to support our Operations to achieve the highest level of SHEQ performance through inspections, coaching and on site support. This role bases itself in the South West covering a range of our Clients. This role fits within Avonline's SHEQ Team and will work collaboratively with the Management and Operational teams.

You will:

- Champion a work culture & environment that embodies a ‘Zero Harm’, Health and Safety culture.
- Promote a positive incident reporting culture within contracts, support teams to ensure all incidents are properly investigated and root causes established; ensuring recommendations are communicated and implemented.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to maintain the highest levels of safe working practices, raise safety awareness and ensure the highest quality of all delivered products.
- Work towards compliance in excess of group SHEQ objectives and strategy.
- Complete Onsite inspections across the business, construction sites and across supply chain as appropriate.
- Monitor, inspect and document safety performance across the business and communicate to stakeholders as appropriate in a constructive manner with recommended actions.
- Complete Core development works such as developing Toolbox Talks and Safety Alerts.
- Implement and share best practice through regular meetings across the Frameworks to ensure consistence and high quality work.
- Contribute to the development of the Safety Management System (SMS)

**What we need from you.**

**Essential**
- An industry recognised Health & Safety qualification such as the NEBOSH Certificate (or equivalent)
- An industry recognised Environmental qualification such as the IEMA or NEBOSH

**Desirable**
- Quality qualification
- NRSWA Supervisor
- Membership to a Professional body
- Working knowledge of Telecoms industry
