**Job Overview**
We are a small family business based in Yorkshire with a group of companies working within the construction sector.

We are seeking a meticulous and self motivated Bookkeeper with a positive attitude to join our small team.

**Duties**
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions and reconciling accounts.
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
- Utilise accounting software such as Xero or similar tools to streamline processes.
- Provide support in the development of financial policies and procedures.
- VAT preparation and returns

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software Xero is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A relevant qualification in accounting or finance is preferred but not mandatory.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From £20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
