The Deaf Academy operates from a £12m brand-new award-winning campus for day and residential students. This is a unique opportunity to join our fantastic team and directly impact our young people’s experience.

We are looking for a hands on, technically competent IT Manager with a strong ability to collaborate with colleagues and lead on driving IT strategy. You will be responsible for proactively managing the IT infrastructure, ensuring data security and continuity of service. Working with the support of our in-house IT team and an outsourced IT provider who will support you in achieving the objectives and responsibilities of this highly rewarding role.

With a proven track record in a similar role, you’ll be excellent at problem-solving and finding solutions. The post holder will need to develop strong relationships with students and staff and be able to prioritise workload.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensure effective operation of the day to day IT services to support staff and students and providing hands on support
- Perform installations, maintenance, upgrades and repairs
- Proactively manage the IT infrastructure covering data, telecommunications networks, server and storage systems, and user devices
- Manage data and system security, licensing, access management, monitoring and disaster recovery.
- Lead on all aspects of the IT operations, infrastructure and resource planning
- Work collaboratively to understand ongoing technology requirements to support the development of the IT strategy
- Manage IT budgets and be responsible for procurement of IT hardware, software and licence management
- Maintain the IT asset inventory and manage the rolling asset replacement plan
- Supervise and support the in-house IT team

**Key requirements**:

- GCSE English and Mathematics at a minimum of a pass.
- A-level or College Equivalent IT certification
- Hold at least 2 current, relevant industry qualifications e.g. CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, Microsoft 365 Certified Administrator
- Management of an IT Support Desk
- Server and Network Support Experience
- Cloud platforms including SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive
- Servers administration with experience in MS Exchange, Group Policy and Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP and VPN skills
- MDM (Mobile Device Management) Solutions and administration
- Experience of back-up, storage and antivirus solutions, installation and troubleshooting File and Exchange Servers, virtualization and VDI, Cloud and Windows Server infrastructure, ITIL, and SCCM. Disaster Recovery implementation experience
- Network Hardware Installation and troubleshooting
