Finance and Procurement Assistant

FRS-UK are actively recruiting for a Finance and Procurement Assistant to join an amazing start-up business in the Food Technology sector.
The Finance and Procurement Assistant will play a crucial part in providing a best-in-class ?nancial & procurement service to the wider organisation by ensuring accurate and timely ?nancial reporting, payments and purchasing.
**Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to**:
- Processing supplier invoices and expenses payments in a timely manner
- Assisting buyers from all departments in the procurement process
- Entering, coding and correcting ?nancial transactions correctly
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Sending remittances to suppliers
- Following up with internal approvers to ensure purchases are approved on time
- Assist with the review of employee expenses as per the relevant company policy and reimbursing employee expenses
- Follow up on open POs and receipts without invoices
- Produce accruals and prepayments for various expenses on a monthly basis
- Produce reallocation journals as required
- Support the Business Controller with the provision of management information
- Data entry and spreadsheet work
- Support in completion of external and internal audits
- Other ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Business Controller
- Work as part of project teams contributing to a culture of openness, transparency, high trust and highly productive team-working.
- Take responsibility for your own continuous professional and personal development.
- Keep up to date with the latest trends and share your ?ndings, knowledge and best practice with colleagues.
- Provide support to the business when the Business Controller is on leave/ out of the business.
- Provide support with ?nance and/ or procurement related projects.
**Key experience/qualifications**
**Essential**:
Currently studying or have an interest in working towards an accountancy qualification
Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
Significant finance experience including Purchase & Sales Ledger, VAT and PAYE/Payroll Procedures
Experience in raising and tracking purchase orders
Experience with procurement
**Desirable**:
Accountancy qualification / Finance or procurement related degree
Advanced MS Excel Skills
Finance & Procurement experience in a Tech/Start-up environment
Managing and tracking delivery timelines
Working within a tech start-up environment
Experience of Netsuite, SAP and/or Xero
