Our client is a specialist in the development of vision systems, electromechanical systems, optoelectronics systems used within surveillance and security.
**Principle Responsibilities**
The Opto-Mechanical Engineer will be primarily responsible for doing mechanical and optical design and development, proving and supporting the design during the lifecycle, and assist on a wide range of projects for a varied client base. The industries willinclude vision systems, electromechanical systems, optoelectronics systems. The role breaks down into three main areas; Development, Research, Others and the responsibilities of each role will typically include, but not be limited to the following:
**Skills / Experience / Qualifications**:
- Essential:_
- The applicant should have a postgraduate (Masters) degree in Optical Engineering, Physics similar technology related field.
- Optical systems design using OpticStudio (ZEMAX)
- Mechanical design using SolidWorks 3D CAD
- Being able to test products
- Being proactive and have good organizational skills
- Being able to communicate effectively in a written and verbal format
- Be able to work with team members
- Being able to meet targets
- Desirable:_
- Practical knowledge in manufacturing of optical details as lenses, prisms and mirrors.
- Mounting optical components like lenses, mirrors, prisms, filters, sensors.
- Common understanding of mounting principle
- Common understanding of electromechanical systems
- Common understanding of electrooptical systems
- Working with Lab machines and tools
- Imaging systems
- Understanding image sensors
- Other specialised software packages like MatLab and ANSYS
