Interim Management Accountant

My client, a large corporate market leading business based in South Birmingham, are recruiting for a Interim Management Accountant on a 6 months contract basis. This is a hybrid role with the possibility of a permanent position at the end of the contract.
**Interim Management Accountant Key Responsibilities**:
- Overseeing and maintaining the integrity of the nominal ledger.
- Ensure that all control accounts are accurately reconciled, and differences are investigated, recorded and properly corrected.
- Assisting in the preparation of detailed Monthly Management Accounts, ensuring any variations to budgets and forecasts are explained in detail, including any future / potential exposures to the business.
- Produce accurate accruals, prepayments and other month end journals.
- Manage and review where appropriate Fixed Asset Registers being maintained by the assistant management accountant.
- Any ad hoc reports and investigations as may be required to explain and support the management accounts.
- On rolling basis prepare the analysis to support the statutory accounts.
- Maintaining an awareness of other departments and assisting non-financial managers when required.
- Full responsibility for the balance sheet, including performing detailed reviews of the balance sheet ensuring the risk to the P&L is minimised.
- Holding necessary reviews with owners of reconciliations (accounts receivable / payable) to ensure all items are cleared in a timely manner and managing transactional teams.
- Working with group treasury function in managing the working capital / cash requirements of the company.
- Preparing, and reviewing where appropriate, Balance Sheet reconciliations each month-end.
**Interim Management Accountant Key Skills**:
- Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
- Excellent excel skills.
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to help build strong relationships with all stakeholders.
- Excellent communicator.
- Strong analytical skills and with the ability to convey financial information simply and coherently.
- Critical thinking skills.
- A customer first mindset.
- A resourceful problem solver who loves a challenge and can work under pressure.
- Experience of working in a dynamic and changing environment.
