Permanent position
A well-established, successful Engineering company based in Northampton, are currently looking for an Administration & Accounts Assistant to work closely with the HR & Finance Manager carrying out general admin & accounts duties to ensure the daily smooth running of the office.
**Working Hours**:Full time 40 hrs per week (Monday to Thursday 8.30am - 5.00pm, Fridays 8.30am - 4pm)
**Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, this Accounts Assistant role will involve the following responsibilities;**
**General Office Administration tasks including**:
- Entering work orders onto the computer system and raising job cards
- Answering the telephone, taking messages and passing calls onto relevant personnel
- Photocopying, scanning and collating of documentation & material relating to production
- Keeping inventory of office supplies and re-ordering when required
- Ensuring vehicle check sheets are completed and filed
- Dealing with the daily post and forwarding onto the relevant personnel / dept.
**Accounts Tasks including**:
- Accounts payable including supplier statement reconciliations
- Assisting with credit control functions including chasing customers for payment
- Raising invoices & Purchase Orders (PO's) daily and inputting onto the system
- Dealing with supplier and customer queries related to invoicing as required
- Assisting with petty cash and bank reconciliations
- Photocopying, scanning and collating of documentation & material relating to finance & accounts
**Experience and skills required for this role include**:
- General office administration experience
- Previous experience of carrying out basic Accounts tasks is essential
- Being flexible in your approach to your daily workload is required
- Knowledge of using Accountancy software (Sage or similar etc) would be an advantage
- Using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- Being able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also being able to use your own initiative
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbally - when dealing with colleagues, management or customers
- Organising your daily tasks effectively to ensure jobs are completed in an efficient manner
- Managing your time to meet targets and times set by other senior management team members
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
