**We’re looking for an Executive Assistant (EA) to support our Chief People Officer (CPO) and Safety & Independent Assurance (S&IA) Director.**

**About us**:
Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue.

Behind every rescue, every lifeboat launch, and every vital piece of water safety advice, is a dedicated group of people - our volunteers, staff and donors. The People Directorate plays a crucial role in ensuring every volunteer and staff member is supported, developed, and empowered to help save every one. Keeping people safe is a top priority, with the Safety and Independent Assurance teams working together yet independently to uphold standards, provide guidance, and ensure compliance. This commitment enables the RNLI to operate effectively while meeting regulatory requirements across all its services.

**Some of the benefits**:

- Salary £34,893 - £41,050 (dependent on experience)
- Flexible working
- 26 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays
- Outstanding pension scheme (contributions of up to 16% of basic salary)
- Life assurance
- Health and dental cashplan

**Your role**:
Do you want an insight into strategic planning at a Director level? Are you a confident and effective communicator? Do you have the skills and experience to support the translation of strategic thinking into operational delivery?

This is a very rewarding role supporting the CPO, S&IA Director and their Leadership Teams.

As an EA, you will have the following responsibilities:

- Enabling both directors to provide effective, timely and quality support to their Senior Leadership Team, Governance Committees and the wider organisation.
- Supporting the Directors with governance requirements including management and engagement of internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that the processes for capturing and communicating key decisions and actions are in place, understood and effective.
- Embracing opportunities to take on delegated authority to coordinate and, if appropriate, lead key projects; making tactical process decisions on behalf of the Directors and attending internal meetings to represent the views of the Directors where appropriate.

**About you**:
We are looking for an EA, with outstanding communication skills and a calm and pragmatic approach to working in a pressurised and fast-moving environment.
- Exceptional use of initiative with a proactive approach to their work and the ability to analyse and translate information clearly and effectively into action, paying great attention to detail but appreciating the bigger picture.
- High emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
- Integrity, credibility and confidence to act as an ambassador for the Directorates and to represent the Directors both internally and externally.
- Excellent influencing and negotiating skills and confidence to challenge at a senior level.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor communications and approach depending on the audience and desired outcome.

This is a really exciting time to join the RNLI as we embark on our third century of lifesaving.

**Safeguarding**:
The RNLI is committed to safeguarding; protecting a person’s health, wellbeing, and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. We expect all employees and volunteers to share this commitment and have a zero-tolerance approach. The suitability of all prospective employees and volunteers will be assessed during the recruitment process in line with this commitment. This will include relevant criminal record checks being carried out dependent on the eligibility of the role. (England & Wales; DBS check, Scotland; Disclosure Scotland PVG, Northern Ireland; Access NI, Republic of Ireland; Garda Vetting; International, International Child Protection Certificate process).
