**Job details**:
The Centre for Waste and Resource Management has been engaging and supporting business, local authorities, and other organisations for over 20 years. Operating in its current guise since 2022 it has worked with over a thousand organisations to improve their operations through the use of resources, including waste and energy. Currently, the Centre has several projects supporting local authorities to deliver carbon and environmental initiatives as well as undertaking bespoke research activities.

The Business Engagement Support Officer post will be based in the Centre for Waste and Resource Management (CWM) within the School of Engineering and Computing. Under supervision of the Centre Director and Projects Manager, they will work with a range of organisations providing support and in-depth assistance to reduce their carbon footprint through energy audits and training. The post holder will undertake the support of Centre projects including energy audits, life cycle thinking diagnostics, knowledge transfer, promotion, communication, and record keeping. It is an opportunity to work with internationally renowned researchers across energy resource, environment and technological solutions with a range of organisations form small and medium businesses in Lancashire, NGOs, councils and international companies.

The position will provide the successful applicant with a range of experience including academic publishing and industrial engagement. We are seeking an individual with interests in developing new skills and learning new technologies and their implementation. The successful applicant will also have an ability to work with clients in a professional manner, possess good team working skills and be able to work on their own initiative when required.

A postgraduate degree or equivalent qualification/experiential learning in environmental technology, carbon technologies, environmental management is also essential.
