Lv / Hv Jointing Trainer

We have a great opportunity for a LV / HV Jointing Trainer to join the Training Academy Team at Electricity North West.

**Our role**

As a Jointing Instructor involves training and educating individuals in both LV and HV cable jointing, and associated work.

A Jointing Instructor is responsible for imparting knowledge and practical skills in accordance with Electricity North West’s Codes of Practice and Safety Rules.

They will work with both internal and external trainees, apprentices, and experienced crafts persons to teach, enhance, and assess their cable jointing capabilities to enable them to work on Electricity North West’s network.

This role will principally be based at Training Academy but may need to operate off site.

To give you an idea of how this role would look and feel, here are some of the things you could expect to do:

- Design, Develop, Deliver and Evaluate training to meet individual and business needs for trainees, apprentices and contracting staff working on behalf of Electricity North West.
- Conduct impartial trade tests and assessment prior to authorisation.
- Develop, design, review and maintain all training material, including power point presentations, workbooks, and on-job books to ensure they are up to date and in-line with all current codes of practice, regulations, and safe working practices.
- Review and propose updates to Electricity North West Codes of Practice
- Be key contact for manufacturers of personal protection equipment and tools.
- Support the development and implementation of new policy and standards related to jointing and associated craft work.
- Conduct electrical training in accordance with Electricity North West’s health and safety requirements, this includes the ability to carry out risk assessment.
- Conduct field assessment and coaching of staff across Electricity North West.

**What we’re looking for**
- Have a working knowledge of the electricity network **(essential)**:

- Have a working knowledge of LV/HV jointing (**essential**)
- Have experience delivering training through a combination of classroom presentations and practical exercises (**desirable**)
- Will hold or develop to a recognised Assessor and Training qualification **(essential)**:

- Have good analytical reasoning.
- Can operate independently, be highly organised, with the ability to prioritise your own workload.
- Be an excellent verbal and written communicator.
- Must be IT literate.
- Must hold a full UK driving licence.
