Speech and Language Therapist

Maxxima’s permanent team are recruiting a band 6 or 7 Speech and Language Therapist based at a special education college in Devon. Whilst the role will be based in Torpoint, Devon there may be occasional travel to other sites. The company you will be working for is a specialist provision providing learning and supportive environment activities for young people aged 16 - 25 years, designed to meet the needs of those with Learning difficulties and disabilities, including Autism, Social Emotional and Mental Health conditions and complex behaviour.

**About the role**:
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working in a clinical and service development capacity to ensure the service to young people with Learning difficulties and disabilities is planned, delivered and evaluated in line with evidence-based practice.

**Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist**:

- Develop and deliver Speech and Language Therapy programmes to children and young adults in primary/secondary/further education or residential homes with complex speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).
- Supporting peers and the Head of Therapies, being an effective Team Member whilst working on own initiative.
- Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team with internal and external colleagues.
- Attending and participating in team meetings as well as review meetings of cases on own case load.

**What we are looking for in a Speech and Language Therapist**:

- Recognised qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and evidence of continuing professional development
- Must be HCPC and RCSLT registered
- Commitment to learning and unlearning in relation to the SLT role within Neurodiversity Affirming support
