An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Stakeholder Relations team as Engagement and Events Officer. The team develop, support and embed an institutional approach to Civic, Public and Community Engagement, working with stakeholders to deliver a programme of events and activities which promote Lancaster University’s research, teaching and collaboration opportunities with external audiences. These include VIPs, local businesses, community representatives and the general public.
As the Engagement and Events Officer, you will plan, develop and deliver major public-facing events such as the biennial Campus in the City project, the Lancaster University Exchange and the annual public lectures programme. With a flexible approach, you will be highly organised, calm under pressure and be comfortable working in a fast-paced team. Strong written and verbal communications skills are essential, combined with an ability to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, external suppliers and stakeholders alike.
Experience in a Higher Education institution or other complex organisation, and knowledge of good practice in public engagement would be advantageous but is not essential.
We are located in a beautiful part of North West England with great facilities and a warm, welcoming community. We offer an occupational pension scheme, a generous annual leave allowance, excellent training and development opportunities, flexible benefits and an employee assistance programme.
