Our Client is looking to hire a Marketing Officer.
The Lancaster district is a beautiful place to live, work and visit, boasting incredible architecture and heritage. Bordered by coastline and countryside, castles and canals, and two areas of outstanding natural beauty, it is a place of history and cultureattracting visitors and those seeking a better quality of life. The city of Lancaster is one of England’s heritage cities and is the county’s cosmopolitan and cultural capital.
The town of Morecambe, with its highly acclaimed promenade, visually rewards visitors with stunning views over the Bay to the Lake District, while the surrounding countryside is some of the most beautiful and varied to be found, dotted with picturesque markettowns such as Carnforth, and seaside villages like Heysham. The prospect of the Eden North Project only adds to the momentum building in the region.
They’re looking for a creative and engaging Marketing Officer who can understand and appreciate their unique location. The role will be responsible for the operational support and development of the council’s commercial assets such as Salt Ayre, The Platform,Williamson Park etc, and working to a place and visitor economy action plan ensuring they support their local visitor, events, retail and hospitality businesses to maximise their potential.
You will be part of a centralised professional marketing team, responsible for marketing a range of activities and services, helping to support the council’s priorities and increase income. You will consider the council’s commercial strengths and weaknesses,as well as those of the area, and develop creative ideas for improving product and promotion across a range of marketing platforms.
You will be able to prioritise workloads and work to tight deadlines. Possessing excellent communication skills, you will be able to use all aspects of the marketing mix including publications and publicity material, advertising, web, social media, and onlinetools in creative and innovative ways.
At the heart of this role, they want you to grow the council’s commercial opportunities and help the area realise its potential as a regional and international destination of choice for businesses, visitors and people wanting to live in the district.
The hours of work are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. You may be required from time to time to attend meetings or cover events that fall outside the normal hours of work, including weekends and may involve travel in and outside the Lancasterdistrict. Driving licence essential. The Council currently operates a Flexible Working Hours Scheme.
