The Team and the Role:
CASS Office is responsible for CASS Oversight across all of Northern Trust’s (“NT”) in scope business, products / services and future business / operational strategy. This role sits within the CASS office, and support the UK Senior Manager Function with prescribed responsible for CASS (“UK SMF CASS Oversight Officer) and the CASS Controller in the oversight of NT CASS Governance Framework covering three NT regulated entities - The Northern Trust Company, London Branch (“TNTC LB”), Northern Trust Global Services SE (“NTGS SE”), and Northern Trust Investors Service Limited (“NTISL”)
As a member of the CASS Office, the role involves supporting the UK CASS Controller and UK SMF CASS Oversight Officer in the on-going development / strengthening and execution of, NT’s CASS Governance Framework.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Implement the necessary changes to CASS policies, procedures, process and systems to facilitate compliance with the CASS regulations
- Produce and provide assessment of Management Information to the CASS stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of the Client Money Asset Return (CMAR), and the on-going maintenance of the CASS Resolution Pack.
- Undertaking various CASS related QA activities, including the review of CASS breach forms
- Assist in the ongoing review and update of the CASS Risk and Control Matrix.
- Support in the delivery of required regulatory changes projects or business initiatives in relation to CASS.
- Provide Subject Matter advice and guidance on CASS rules to support the business
- Attendance at industry conferences/events, networking & roundtables in relation to CASS
- Other duties as assigned.
- Understand and challenge the business processes and controls and be able to document them back to the CASS rulebook.
- Previous experience of process improvement with a view to developing/enhancing control
- Excellent in execution
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skill;
- Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised in a proactive manner, and good time management;
- Conflict resolution skills with a collaborative and consensual approach to work, a good team player;
- Ability to influence senior staff outside of your direct team.
